Celebration, Florida / Greg Wohead
Live Arts Exchange (LAX) Festival

A show featuring two unrehearsed performers.

Veering between reality and simulation, Celebration, Florida orbits around ideas of surrogacy; a stand-in to replace a person you miss, a re-creation of an experience you can’t stop thinking about, nostalgia for a place that never existed.

This is a show for anyone who has ever missed anyone or anything.

Greg will speak to you through two performers using pre-recorded audio and headphones. The performers will know almost nothing about the show before they walk on stage.

Greg Wohead is a writer and performer based between Los Angeles and London, originally from Texas. He makes theatre performances, one-to-one pieces and audio work. He has shown and developed new work in the UK at places like Battersea Arts Centre, Bristol Old Vic, Forest Fringe, Mayfest and The Yard, and outside the UK at The Orchard Project, Bios (Athens), MC Theater (Amsterdam) and MAKE (Ireland).

Jodie Landau / wild Up- you of all things
Live Arts Exchange (LAX) Festival

Jodie Landau and wild Up celebrate the release of “you of all things” on Bedroom Community. The album is the culmination of an international musical collaboration between Los Angeles’ ground breaking music collective wild Up, emerging LA performer/composer Jodie Landau and the Icelandic all-female choir Graduale Nobili, who recorded and toured with Björk on her Biophilia project.

unadult / Genevieve Carson
Live Arts Exchange (LAX) Festival

Unadult is a dance theater experience that invites the audience into a poignant and hauntingly honest look at the female experience of growing into womanhood. As the cast of five female performers set off on a journey filled with triumphs and defeats, grand physicality is punctuated with delicate, technical refinement, and hilarious declarations. The result is a heart-warming performance filled with comedy, quarrels, joy, and self-reflection.

Rogue Artists Ensemble & Bootleg Theater present

WOOD BOY DOG FISH

Written By Chelsea Sutton
Directed by Sean Cawelti

Experience the Rogue’s modern macabre retelling of Carlo Collodi’s “The Aventures of Pinocchio.” In this world-premiere play for mature audiences, the cricket is killed, Blue haunts us all, and the legendary Dogfish monster preys on our greatest fears in the tumbledown tourist trap amusement park of Shoreside, where a little wooden puppet comes to life at the hands of the wood-maker Geppetto.

Wood Boy Dog Fish is a visual feast that combines masks, highly expressive physical performance, dance, interactive sets, multiple puppetry traditions, projected media, and sophisticated special effects and illusions – including 3D enhancement to recreate a scene inside an old carnival ride. (ChromaDepth® 3D glasses will be available at each performance for a suggested donation.)

After a long summer away the Los Angeles Lady Arm Wrestlers are BACK! They are fighting for GUTS, GLORY, and who gets to tell the best story at the holiday dinner table. "Cause who doesn't want to tell mom how big of a winner they are.

It's time for our Annual FALL BRAWL. Come join us for our pre-holiday festivities! Turkeys, pumpkin pie, ripped biceps. You know, the usual, which is always very unusual.

All proceeds will benefit REALGirl! Here's a bit about our rad partner:

"REALGirl is dedicated to inspiring and guiding girls ages 9-16 to discover their 'REAL' (authentic) selves and develop the skills, knowledge, confidence and courage they need to consistently make informed life-choices from a place of self-knowledge, self-respect and strength. The goal of REALgirl to provide essential life skills every girl/young woman needs for healthy maturation, development, formation of healthy relationships and the opportunity to reach her own unique and highest potential. Through art, movement, discussion, writing, theatre games, guest speakers and a variety of other fun and dynamic activities, participants will be guided to develop tools to successfully navigate issues every girl faces today."

We are so excited to partner with this tremendous organization!
